A Festive Finale: My Christmas Eve Performance in Upper Marlboro

This Christmas Eve, I had the incredible opportunity to perform at a private event hosted by a successful businesswoman in Upper Marlboro. The evening was nothing short of magical, and I was thrilled to be a part of it.

Dressed in my custom-painted boots and a matching waistcoat, with the boots, I had meticulously crafted myself, I felt a unique sense of pride and excitement. The outfit added a personal touch to the performance, making it even more special. I was stationed at the top of the stairs of this beautifully decorated home where I matched the decor with blue.

For three hours, I played my heart out, filling the room with Christmas music they were famiiar with. The audience's enthusiasm and appreciation made the experience unforgettable. It was a perfect way to wrap up my first year as a gigging musician.

The set list was seasonal. I didn't play any blues until the last few minutes of the night when I was asked; what was my favorite music?

Grabbing the mic, I sang Ray Charles' "Drowning in my own tears," and Blues Man by B.B. King. The vocals were on point but I hit the wrong note on guitar more than once.

Reflecting on this journey, I can't help but feel grateful for all the opportunities and experiences that have come my way. This performance was the grand finale of 2024, and it has left me eagerly anticipating what the future holds.
